Flemming Agerskov

Agerskov has played with a lot of the
known musicians in Scandinavia and has as a
sideman and co-leader, recorded with more than 20
different groups during the last years
(see discography ).

Played/recorded with soloists such as Bob Brookmeyer, Bob Berg,
Ulf Wakenius, Lee Konitz, Jon Balke , Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker,
Ray Charles Mads Vinding and Bobo Stenson.

Has played with a lot of the known musicians in Scandinavia such as
Fredrik Lundin,Thomas Clausen,Jonas Johansen,Hans Ulrik, Kim Kristensen,
Peter Danemo, Cenneth Jönsson, Thomas Gustavson and Joakim Milder.

For the time being playing in swedish singer Josephine Cronholms Ibis,
Wet Paint lead by Hans Andersson, Takuan, C.V. Jørgensen Band and The Crossover Ensemble.

Best Jazztrumpet-player of the year (1991). Prizewinner at International Jazz Contest - in Prague 1991 with
Frisch- Lundin-Agerskov Trio and with Copenhagen Art Ensemble in 1991 at the Holstebro Jazzfestival.
   
History  
   
Flemming Agerskov. Born 1963 .

Began to play the trumpet when he was 9 years old.
 

Studied classical trumpetplaying at The Academy Of Music in Aarhus.
Among his teachers was Martin Schuster, professor Bengt Eklund from Göteborg (Sweden)
and Vincent Chicovics from The Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

In 1985 he travelled to Japan due to a great interest for japanese music culture
and religion. Played 1 year at Repos Nightclub in Kyoto, with japanese musicians and had the
opportunity to study the traditional japanese music at close hand. Returned to Copenhagen in 1986.

Won an award for Best Jazztrumpet-player Of The Year (1991).
Prizewinner at International Jazz Contest in Prague 1991 with Frisch- Lundin-Agerskov Trio
and with Copenhagen Art Ensemble in 1991 atthe Holstebro Jazzfestival.
