Martin France      
   

This particular group also includes british drummer
Martin France who for the time being is one of the leading
figures in modern european jazz.

Having been involved in drumming
since the age of nine Martin France has played with many of
Europes finest musicians, this also includes some of America´s
leading players too. He has performed in all five continents
including concerts and tours in nearly forty countries worldwide.


Belonging to the "generation of young musicians
who have crested the wave of fresh popularity which has
invigorated British Jazz in recent years".(Penguin Guide to Jazz - 1994)
A turning point in his early career was his role within
the Eighties anarcho-musical big band LOOSE TUBES
where he began long standing partnership with many of its members.


His association with Django Bates has led to many diverse projects
apart from the jazz environment they normally inhabit with
HUMAN CHAIN and DELIGHTFUL PRECIPICE.


These include film soundtracks, Jazz theatre,
cross cultural collaborations and projects involving
classical orchestrasincluding the LSO and the London Sinfonietta.


He has been featured on radio and TV all over the world performing "live "
shows for international broadcast. Also Martin´s talents have been very much
in demand and he has appeared on many recordings with:

Django Bates and the groups Human Chain , Loose Tubes and
Delightful Precipice. Steve Swallov, John Taylor, Kenny Wheeler,
Dave Holland, Julian Argüelles, Iain Ballamy,Sidsel Endresen, Nils Petter Molvær and Fun Horns.
